Housekeeping Notes

My blogging adventure has had some challenged.  If you cannot tell, my links don't link.  This cyber-challenged cowboy is trying to fix it.

Since speed is of the essence in blogging, my posts are often not as refined as I'd like.  Also, my attention is divided, with to many irons in the fire.

I thank my 1.3 readers (per day) and will work on making Bloggermouth a better-mouth.

Lincoln's War, Revisited

Photo026_2 When Abraham Lincoln was elected, the south suceeded.  He sent an invasion fleet to "relive" Ft Sumter.  The south attacked, which is what he wanted; war.  He expected the war to last a few short months.

Photo023_4 He didn't count on southern tenenasity.

Lincoln had to suspend hablis corpus and wage "total war" in order to win.

Vote Early, Vote Often

My polling place is well run.  I walk in, vote and walk out. Simple.

I even got 2 "I voted" stickers, so I can say that I voted twice.

Duty is mine, results are up to God

Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness {unjust gain}; and place  such over them.  to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties and rulers of tens.

                                                         -Exodus 18;21

Hating covetousness?  That lets out all liberal Democrats who call for the Marxist progressive tax.

It's Offical, They're Cowards

AP

Beit Handoun Gaza Strip -

Hundreds of Palestinian women dressed in long robes and headcarves, responded to an appeal by the local Hamas radio station to rescue gunmen trapped in a Mosque.

Since the brave jihadist couldn't start a battle, then run behind the skirts of women, the women came to them.

Even a Broken Clock is Right; Twice a Day

Photo026"You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.  You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer, You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred.  You cannot keep out of trouble by spending  by spending more than you earn.  You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man's initiative and independence.  You cannot help men permanently by doing what could and should do for themselves."    -Abraham Lincoln

Shopping Cart Blight

Photo007_1 This, I discovered on my front yard one morning.

Being a good neighbor, I loaded these shopping carts on my pickup and dropped them off at the plaza, just down the street.

Photo006 The city, in all it's wisdom, will site the business owners who own these abandoned shopping cart.

In order to get rid of this blight.

Why note site the person caught way out in the boonies pushing a shopping cart?  Give him 24 hours to return it to it's owner, or face jail.
